This paper highlights the significant role literature can play
within EFL contexts. That focusing mainly on short stories, novellas and
novels. A short story/novella/novel serves as a model and inspiration for
language awareness, contributing to the development of language skills and
elements. A short story, for instance, is a window to culture which immerses a
reader into the world it depicts, surrounding him/her with its language and
setting, and involving him/her with its characters, theme, plot, and etc.
